In preparation for the Music City Solar Eclipse this August, we're excited to introduce a special Eclipse Speaker Series featuring discussions with scientists from the community! From the weird and wonderful impact of eclipses on science and culture to the amazing science research planned around this year's eclipse, this casual discussion series is sure to fascinate. Spend an evening exploring all things eclipse with remarkable scientists and experts who are changing the world. 

Special Barnard-Seyfert Astronomical Society Meeting & Panel Discussion

Join us for a very special Barnard-Seyfert Astronomical Society (BSAS) monthly meeting, where you can catch ECLIPSE: The Sun Revealed in the Sudekum Planetarium*, enjoy special presentations about the upcoming total solar eclipse, and get involved in a lively discussion with the panel. You don't have to be a BSAS member to attend!


  • 6 p.m. – Optional screening of ECLIPSE: The Sun Revealed ($8)
  • 7 p.m. – BSAS meeting begins
  • 7:10 p.m. – Panelists' presentations begin
  • 8:15 p.m. – Panel discussion begins
  • 9 p.m. – Meeting ends

*Aside from the optional 6 p.m. screening, this Eclipse Speaker Series is free and open to the public.
