Pre-K to Kindergarten Programs
Teacher Support Materials are provided for each program. These provide vocabulary lists, student activities to use before and after your visit, exhibit connections, and resources. You'll also find Tennessee Science Grade Level Expectations (GLEs) to match our programs to your curriculum.

Living In Space
Pre-Kindergarten - K, Maximum 75 students
Discover how astronauts survive in space and what makes living in space different from living on Earth.
$3 per student in addition to group admission fee with minimum payment for 15 participants per program. Maximum 20 students. Available Tuesday to Friday during the school day.
Hands-on science labs are sure to excite and engage young scientists in preschool or kindergarten. ASC educators provide experiences for inquiry, exploration and observation – all designed to strengthen emerging skills and ignite curiosity in young minds. Little Labs are available for Early Childhood to Kindergarten small groups.
Please note that schools must provide at least two additional adults per program to assist the ASC educator during the program.

Little Engineers (NEW!)
Design it, build it, and test it! Explore what it means to be an engineer. Make structures and learn about making them stronger.
The Butterfly Effect
Learn about the metamorphosis of the caterpillar to the butterfly and about other insects.(add a $5 non-refundable materials fee)
Bacteria, viruses, germs, oh my! Learn what makes the human body sick, ways to prevent illness, and how to fight the spread of germs.
Become a paleontologist and dig up fossils, compare dinosaur features, and discover why dinosaurs are so special.
Space Blast Off!
Complete “space training” to see what it’s like to be an astronaut and how living in space is different from living on Earth.
Power On! All Systems Go! What’s a robot and what can robots do? Explore simple robots and how they are different from you.
Whoo Ate That?
Get wise about owls and what it means to be raptor. Investigate what’s for dinner when you are an owl through dissecting an owl pellet.

Grades Pre-K to 1
Based on the popular children's show Sesame Street. Big Bird, Elmo and their friend from China, Hu Hu Zhu, take viewers on a journey of discovery to learn about the Big Dipper, the North Star, the Sun and the Moon.

This live, participatory program allows your youngest students to explore the daytime and nighttime skies in the unique, multi-sensory environment of the planetarium.
