Adventure Science Center and Lipman Brothers present the
7th Annual Science of Beer
Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 | 7 – 10 p.m.
The Science of Beer is an annual festival that celebrates local and American craft beer featuring tastings of over 70 brews, fun beer-science demonstrations and activities, liquid nitrogen beer ice cream and more. This one-of-a-kind beer festival happens to coincide with the much anticipated release of the 7th Star Wars movie. So journey with us to the outer reaches of space…
A long time ago in a brewery far, far away… Luke Sky-Porter, Princess Lager and Han SoBro joined forces to craft the best beer and conquer the Galactic Amber-pire of Emperor Pale-Ale-patine and Darth Kegerator.
All ticket levels include unlimited tasting samples of more than 70 craft beers and a commemorative pint glass.
Patron-level ticket includes a full pint at the Beer Garden.
Got friends? Get a 6-pack of tickets for $225 or patron-level tickets for $275.
Must be 21 or older. Valid photo ID required at the door. Please purchase tickets in advance. Tickets are non-refundable, but are transferable.
Activities (included with admission):
- Not Quite Carbonite
Just in case you’re ever frozen in carbonite like Han SoBro, find out about one of the major elements it contained: carbon! Learn how temperature affects the dissolution of carbon gas in liquid, how your drink container affects carbonation, and more.
- Cantina Band
Think you’re ready to join the Cantina Band and play for the likes of Obi Blonde Kenobi? Try crafting your own instruments from beer bottles, growlers, beer cans and a keg (courtesy of Frugal MacDoogal), while learning about harmonics, sound and waves.
- Galactic Glasses
Each droid, like C-3Pilsner and RBrew-D2, is designed to perform a specific task or set of tasks – much like the machinery we have in our world to craft everything from cars to glasses. Watch as we demonstrate how to craft your own galactic glass out of a beer bottle using flames and ice water!
- Not Quite Carbonite
- Craft Brewed – “Homebrewing Techniques”
- PUBlicity – “Cooking with Beer”
- Liquid nitrogen beer ice cream (while supplies last)
Extra Charge Activities:
- Food Trucks onsite: Electric Sliders, Music City Pie Co., and Steaming Goat
- Make your own T-shirt or print with Hip Hues
