Innovation Incubator Maker Labs


Step into the Innovation Incubator (I2) to explore high-tech maker tools while dreaming up incredible ideas and watching them come to life! Discover the magic of 3D printers, learn how to write code, and even explore how to recycle old electronics into something brand new in our permanent maker space.

Please note: I2 Lab tickets must be purchased in conjunction with membership or general admission tickets. It is only necessary to purchase a lab ticket for any participating child; accompanying parent does not need to purchase a separate ticket.



CODE IT: Spirograph Engraving

Learn how coding applies to your everyday life while exploring the basics of Python, a widely-used programming language, to create a custom engraved spirograph with our high-tech laser cutter. Through this new lab, you'll be introduced to IDLE (Integrated Development and Learning Environment) and the "Turtle" library.

PRINT IT: Fidget Spinners

Explore the basics of 3D printing technologies and their real-world applications, learn how to use TinkerCAD to design 3D models, and design your own fidget spinner or choose to create another awesome project in this special lab. Attendees will receive their final 3D printed project in the mail.

HACK IT: Classic Toys

Saturday, August 12, at 1:15 p.m.

What makes electronics tick? In this special two hour program for children ages 10 and up, you can learn to dissect, manipulate, modify, hack and harbor the electronics from old devices to create new inventions! Whether you're a novice or an experienced hacker, the sessions will provide basic safety information, free exploration with projects, and the chance to share your "hack" with the group. 
COST: Members: $4 per student; Non-Members: $7 per student
