General Membership Questions


How do I purchase Adventure Science Center membership?

You can purchase a membership online, by phone at (615) 401-5057, or in person at the Guest Services desk. You can also apply your admission tickets towards a new membership within 7 days of your visit (by phone or in person at the Guest Services desk only).

How long will my membership last?

A membership is valid for one year from the date of purchase. Members receive an Adventure Science Center annual renewal notice when it is time to renew a membership.

When does my membership begin?

Your membership is valid at the time of purchase and may be used immediately. You will receive an email to download your digital membership cards within three business days of your purchase.  If you visit the science center before you have received your digital cards simply present your photo ID for membership verification.  Please allow at least three (3) weeks for processing if you join by mail. 

What are the basic benefits of membership?

Core benefits include free unlimited General Admission for one year, free or discounted admission to 300+ ASTC museums, half-price Sudekum Planetarium tickets, discounted workshops, labs, camps, birthday parties, and more! Go to the Member Benefits page for a complete list of member benefits.

Do I need to bring anything with me besides my membership card when I visit the science center?

Members must present a valid photo ID with valid membership card each visit to receive member benefits. 

Are memberships tax deductible?

Our membership and Explorers Society levels qualify as a fully charitable deduction. The Caregiver Add-On is not tax-deductible. Below is a list of membership values for tax-deduction purposes. Consult with your tax advisor for more details.

May I make changes to my membership after I have joined?

Yes, additions such as the Caregiver Add-on or upgrading to a higher level can be made at any time.  Account updates such as email address or phone number can be made by contacting the Membership desk via email at membership@adventuresci.org.  Memberships are non-refundable and cannot be transferred or canceled before expiration.

Note: Only the Designated Adult Cardholders on record are permitted to request changes to a membership record.

I have moved. How may I change my physical address, phone number, or email address?

Email your new information to membership@adventuresci.org or contact our Membership Team at (615) 401-5057, Monday – Friday, 10am to 5pm.

Do you share personal information with outside resources?

We do not share membership information with any third party. Members also may opt out of Adventure Science Center direct mail and e-newsletters. 

Can my membership have two different addresses?

No, memberships represent one household per membership. Members from separate households must obtain separate memberships.  Only two adults of the same household may use the membership. 

May I purchase a membership for a child?

We do not offer membership in the name of a child under 17 years of age.

May I bring guests to visit Adventure Science Center with my membership?

Guest privileges are included only with certain levels. Contact our Membership Team at (615) 401-5057 to determine the level that is right for you. 

Membership Discounts


What forms of ID are accepted to qualify for an educator discount?

Acceptable forms of verification include: Faculty ID, LEA card, valid teaching license/certificate, recent pay stub, or a copy of your “Intent to Home School” form submitted to your local school district. Forms of verification must be presented in person at time of purchase for the discount to apply. Please note that you must submit verification of your eligibility with each new purchase or renewal. 

I am a homeschool parent. Do I qualify for the educator discount?

Yes, our $10 educator discount applies to independent homeschool educators. To qualify, please provide a copy of your “Intent to Home School” form submitted to your local school district. 

Is there a discount on membership purchases for military families?

Yes, a $10 military affinity discount may be applied to any of our standard* or Explorer Society level memberships. Active Duty, Retiree, or Reservist military ID card (DD Form 2 or 2A), Discharge papers (DD-214), or Military Dependent ID card (for spouse or children of Active Duty Military personnel) must be presented at time of purchase. *Curiosity level memberships are not included in the affinity discount program.

What is the Curiosity level membership and who is eligible?

Our Curiosity level membership provides the opportunity for economically disadvantaged Tennessee residents to visit ASC at a reduced rate. To be eligible, an individual must provide a valid photo ID plus proof of participation in a qualifying program (WIC, SNAP, TANF) from the associated agency. Curiosity level memberships are only available to purchase in person at the Membership Desk. For more information, contact our Membership Team at (615) 401-5057. 

Membership Cards


When will I receive my membership cards?

Digital membership cards are sent via email to the primary member. The primary member can share the digital card with the secondary adult on the account or a caregiver by tapping the “i” icon on the digital card.

The digital cards are stored directly on your smart phone and are for the convenience of our members. Never lose your card and access all your benefits with the swipe of a finger.

Please allow up to 3 business days to receive the email containing your digital membership card. For questions or to update your email, call (615) 401-5057 or email membership@adventuresci.org.

Don’t have a smart phone? Physical cards available upon request.

What if I haven’t received an email to download my digital cards?

Digital cards will be emailed out within 3 business days.  If it has been longer than three business days, emailmembership@adventuresci.org or call (615) 401-5057 to ensure the correct email address on file. Please check all junk or spam folders for an email from Adventure Science Center, membership@cuseum.com.

May I use my membership without my membership card(s)?

You may visit anytime after your purchase simply by presenting a Photo ID for membership verification to the Guest Services staff at the front desk.

Visiting Adventure Science Center


What does unlimited General Admission include?

General Admission includes access to all regularly scheduled programs, activities, and permanent exhibits (excluding Sudekum Planetarium and Blue Max Flight Simulator).

Where is the Member Express line?

The Member Express line is open during peak times to accommodate crowds. Look for the “Members Express” signs when you enter the lobby.

I’m a Member—why do I have to stand in line?

All visitors are required to check-in. We use attendance counts to assist us with planning and reporting.

What is the member price for tickets to visit Sudekum Planetarium?

Member ticket prices for Sudekum Planetarium are half-off the regular price per person per show. 

What is the member price for BlueMax Flight Simulator?

Member ticket prices for Blue Max Flight Simulator are $5 per person per ride. 

My child is coming with a school field trip. Is he/she able to use the membership?

ASC memberships, reciprocal membership, coupons, and special offers do not apply to school group visits due to the additional staffing, supplies, and materials required for field trip visits.

How may I keep up with member events and ASC programs?

Member events are held at various times throughout the year. Subscribe to ASC e-news or visit our current calendar of events for up-to-date program information. 

Are guests allowed to attend Members-Only events?

Member events are exclusive to member households only. Guests are not permitted to attend Members-Only events. 

May I give my membership card to friends or family members?

Memberships are non-transferable and may not be shared. Memberships are for the named individuals only. Cardholders are required to present a photo ID each visit. NOTE: Cards presented by non-members are subject to deactiviation and/or confiscation. 

May my spouse or partner bring my kids to the Science Center?

At least one, but no more than two, adult names must be listed as the Designated Adult(s) on each membership. Memberships are for the exclusive use of those individuals designated on the cards. When there are two Designated Adults listed on a membership, they must be members of the same household. 

May my Nanny or Babysitter bring my kids to the Science Center?

You may opt to include the Caregiver Add-On on your membership for $25. Limit one per membership. Restrictions apply. NOTE: Caregivers’ children are not covered under your membership. Please see our Caregiver Add-On Policy for more details.

May member children come without a parent?

All children 16 and under visiting the science center must be accompanied by an adult. ou may opt to include the Caregiver Add-On on your membership for $25. ASTC Reciprocal Membership Benefits

(ASTC Travel Passport Program)


How does the ASTC Travel Passport Program work?

ASC members have reciprocal admission privileges with other participating science and technology centers. Each institution has its own admissions policy, so call before you visit to get the details. Reciprocity extends only to general admission—it does not include free admission to additional attractions such as special exhibits, planetarium shows, simulator rides or giant-screen films. It also does not usually include museum store discounts. Click here for link to a list of the ASTC reciprocating facilities» along with more information about the program. Please familiarize yourself with all the rules applying to reciprocity with the ASTC Passport Program before you purchase your membership. Organizations may change their participation in the reciprocity program. We do not offer refunds due to changes in reciprocity.

NOTE: Per ASTC Travel Passport Restrictions, participating science centers must be 90 miles or further from both the Adventure Science Center and the member's current residence in order to receive reciprocating benefits. Science centers in Murfreesboro and Tullahoma do not qualify for Adventure Science Center members to receive free or reduced admission rates. 

What is ASTC?

ASTC stands for the Association of Science and Technology Centers. Adventure Science Center is a member of ASTC. 

Does the science center honor ACM or AZA memberships?

Adventure Science Center does not participate in the ACM or AZA reciprocity programs.

I am going out of town. How do I use my membership?

I’m visiting from out of town. How do I use my membership from another ASTC facility?

If you are a member from another ASTC museum visiting Adventure Science Center, present your current membership card from your hometown museum or science center and a valid photo ID. You will receive free general admission for up to two (2) adults and up to four (4) children (under 18 years old) in the same household. May I use my membership at another local museum or science center?

No. To receive ASTC Travel Passport Program benefits, you must reside more than 90 miles from the center/museum you wish to visit.

How many reciprocal members will get in for free at the participating ASTC Travel Passport Program organization?

Each Passport venue has its own admissions policy (denoted by “F:” on the participants list) that lets you know which and how many reciprocal members receive free admission when you visit. It’s a good idea to review the admission policy before visiting so you know what to expect. Adventure Science Center’s ASTC reciprocal policy includes free general admission for up to two (2) adults and up to four (4) children (under 18 years old) in the same household. General admission fees apply to any additional guests not named on membership.

Renewing Your Membership


How do I know when my membership expires?

Your expiration date is located on your membership card. Memberships to Adventure Science Center are valid for one full year from the date of purchase. As your expiration date nears, you will receive renewal notices via mail or email.

If I renew my membership before my expiration, do I lose months I had left?

Your membership runs an entire year from the date of purchase. If you renew early, the new membership begins when your old membership expires.

How do I renew my membership?

You may renew at the Membership Desk, online, or by phone at (615) 401-5057. 

Gift Memberships


How do I buy a gift membership for someone?

Gift memberships can be purchased in two ways:

  1. Online – the membership begins the same day of purchase and the recipient will be notified via email of the gift within 3 business days.  Choose level below (anchor link to levels)
  2. Gift Card – Purchase a gift card in the amount of the membership you’d like to give.  The recipient can redeem the gift card at any date and the membership will begin on date of redemption.  Gift cards can be purchased at the gift shop OR by calling (615) 401-5057.  Gift cards purchased over the phone will be mailed to you or the recipient along with a membership welcome letter.

I’ve received a gift card to put toward the purchase of a membership. How do I make the purchase with the gift card?

To redeem your Adventure Science Center gift card on a membership, please visit our Membership Desk on your next visit or contact us at (615) 401-5057.
