An experience in the Sudekum Planetarium’s Turner Theatre promotes more than just understanding the stars and space exploration. Award-winning programs take audiences on tours of the solar system, or up close to erupting volcanoes and powerful tornadoes. Visit ancient Egypt to learn how the sky was used to tell time. Journey to exotic locations such as the Galapagos Islands, prehistoric oceans or even Sesame Street. Or, stay close to home and investigate the constellations and planets of our night sky.

The planetarium seats 166 people and programs are scheduled in one hour blocks.

Astronaut

Destination Solar System - LIVE!

Passengers will travel millions of miles on this amazing interactive funfilled tour led by live host Jesse, an enthusiastic—but inexperienced—tour guide, and Max, a highly advanced, fully integrated onboard computer. Tours of the hottest hot spots and coldest, stormiest sights in the Solar System await curious space explorers of all ages. Subjects covered: Earth and Space Science–Universe.

Dream to Fly

Dynamic Earth

Explore Earth's climate system using supercomputer simulations and models based on satellite date to follow energy from the Sun and see how it affects Earth’s atmosphere, oceans, and biosphere. Subjects covered: Earth and Space Science–Earth, Atmosphere.

ECLIPSE: The Sun Revealed

Explore the rich cultural history of humankind’s eclipse experiences while learning why eclipses happen, how to safely observe them, and what scientific discoveries we’ve made as a result of their study.
