Things to do at Adventure Science Center - July 2019

Summer is in full swing here at Adventure Science Center.

All month long you can enjoy special events and experiences in the museum and Planetarium, as well as out in the community. See what kind of science fun you can expect this month at ASC!

NEW EXHIBIT - soundBox is finally open! We are so excited to share this amazing new experience with the Nashville community. Explore 14 hands-on exhibits that the whole family can enjoy from conducting the Nashville symphony, playing instruments using augmented reality, testing your vocal skills and visualizing soundwaves. Learn more about soundBox.

July 4 - Even though our special Red, White and BOOM fireworks viewing party is sold out, you can still celebrate the 4th of July at Adventure Science Center since we’ll be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.!

July 5, 12, 19, 26 - For the first time ever we are hosting a summer concert series in our beautiful Galactic Gardens amphitheater. This free concert series will include diverse musical acts including bands from Girls Who Rock, African drums, Chinese and South Indian dancers and Hen House Nashville. You can learn more and see a full schedule on our event calendar!

July 12, 13, 14 - Our Sudekum Planetarium can do so much more than show you the night sky. For three days only, we will be showing a special, immersive show called The New Infinity. These three short films will challenge your thinking and immerse you in ways that only a full dome planetarium show can. Tickets to this special presentation are included with general admission and free to all of our members! Learn more and reserve your tickets here.

July 13 - Every second Saturday, Adventure Science Center is open late for laser shows in the Planetarium and science fun throughout the museum. This month, we will be showing Rush 2112, Laser Genesis, and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon in the planetarium so snag your tickets while you can! Learn more about Second Saturdays at ASC.

July 20 - It’s the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing! We will have actual pieces from the moon on display July 20 - come see the moon up close and personal.

If you can’t make it to the museum, you can attend One Giant Leap, a free community presentation all about the Apollo 11 mission. Learn more about the mission, its legacy and some of the behind-the-scenes things you may not have learned in science class. This free event will be hosted at Union Station hotel downtown from 6 to 7 p.m. on Saturday July 20. Learn more here!

July 25 - Big bucks, no whammies! Come on down to Way Late Play Date: Game Night edition for after-hours science fun (and drinks) for adults. This month, we will be exploring the science of sound and music with a retro game show spin. Play Jeopardy in the planetarium, learn the secrets behind carnival games, test your knowledge at trivia and more! Get your tickets today to secure your spot!
