Innovation is a human force that knows no limits. It turns problems into progress. It pushes the boundaries of possibility, creating unprecedented new capabilities. World Intellectual Property Day 2017 celebrates that creative force.

Join the Nashville Bar Association Intellectual Property Committee in an exploration of how some of the world’s most extraordinary innovations have improved our lives and how our intellectual property (IP) system supports innovation by attracting investment, rewarding creators, encouraging them to develop their ideas, and ensuring that their new knowledge is freely available so that tomorrow’s innovators can build on today’s new technology.

Special Activities:

Explore how science plays into the world of IP while learning how to protect your great ideas! With special focuses on patents, trademarks, copyrights and science, you can enjoy hands-on activities that include coloring books, inventor collector cards, circuit and gear kits, and much more!

Special Presentations at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.:

Gain insight into how patents, trademarks and copyrights support innovation in this illuminating 45-minute presentation featuring guests from the United States Patent and Trademark Office and local Intellectual Property Attorneys.

We are excited to offer this event in collaboration with the Intellectual Property (IP) Committee of the Nashville Bar Association, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) and the Central Tennessee Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
