Science of Spirits

Science of Spirits is a new 21+ event at the science center, similar to our annual Science of Beer festival, but with an array of liquors, spirits, specialty cocktails, and inventive mocktails to sample throughout the evening. Plus, enjoy all your favorite exhibits along with themed Live Science demonstrations and shows in the Sudekum Planetarium.

Your ticket to the event includes unlimited samples of each drink and spirit!

Each ticket to this special event includes:

Unlimited samples of spirits, specialty cocktails, and inventive mocktails (including alcohol-free options!) from local bars and national brands
Educational demonstrations diving into the science of mixology
Kid-free, after-hours access to the science center
Shows in the award-winning Sudekum Planetarium

Activities Throughout the Night:

Boo Bubbles - Have you ever held a bubble in your hand? Now's your chance. We will be dropping dry ice into hot water to make fog-filled bubbles that you can hold!
DIY Pepper's Ghost - Replicate an illusion technique used in the theatre, cinema, amusement parks, museums, television, and concerts.
Theremin - Wave your hands near the antennae to raise or lower the pitch and volume of this iconic instrument from music by the Beach Boys and Led Zeppelin.
LED Ghost Necklaces - Create your own ghost necklace using LED lights to get into the spirit of the night.

Live Science FIRE Show - Learn about the chemistry of alcohol and discover which of your favorite liquors makes the best fuel.
