Way Late Play Date: Little Red Corvette

Cargando Eventos

Prince and the ’80s go together like scrunchies & crimped hair, Maverick & Goose, sweatbands & fanny packs … you get the idea. We’re packing up our DeLorean and traveling back to that epic decade for our next Way Late Play Date in September!

2020 was a long year without any 21+ events at Adventure Science Center, so our engines are fully revved to make this an unforgettable night exploring the scientific and cultural intersection of cars, music, and the ’80s.

  • Access to our brand-new Car Culture exhibit featuring Corvettes from the National Corvette Museum
  • Live Science Spectacular in Eureka Theater
  • Adult beverages and food on-site for purchase (see below)
  • Hands-on demos throughout the building
  • Special version of our hit Prince Laser Show in the Sudekum Planetarium
  • Full rein of the science center with a 21+ only crowd…no children allowed

Important Update:

We have made the decision to require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result for entry to this Way Late Play Date. The enjoyment of food and beverages will make consistent mask-wearing difficult and we want to ensure a fun and safe environment for attendees and staff. It has been two years since our last WLPD and we are taking these measures in an effort to reduce the potential of having to cancel the event. We don’t want to pack up our hair crimpers and denim on denim outfits … again!

When you arrive, Security and Adventure Science Center staff will be at the entry doors checking for:

  • IDs – this is a 21+ event
  • Proof of completed vaccination – which can be presented as a physical or smartphone copy of your vaccine card
    • Individuals who have only received one of a two-shot vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) will be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test result

  • Negative COVID-19 test result – which must be timestamped within 72 hours or less of the event

Vaccines are available at many clinics and pharmacies or at the Metro Drive-thru Clinic at 2491 Murfreesboro Road. Visit ASafeNashville.org o Vaccines.gov for more information on times and locations. We understand that some individuals may have medical reasons that preclude them from immunization which is why we will allow proof of a negative COVID-19 test as an alternative at this time. A list of COVID-19 assessment centers can be found by clicking aquí. Even if you are vaccinated, we strongly encourage wearing masks given the steady rise of cases and low community immunization rates.

If you’re feeling the existential panic of having lost your vaccine card, don’t worry – you have options! haga clic aquí to read an article published by the Tennessean that breaks down the various steps that can be taken to replace your proof of vaccination.

If you are unable to present either a completed vaccination card that matches the name on your ID or a negative, timestamped COVID-19 test administered in the last 72 hours that matches the name on your ID, you will not be allowed admittance to Way Late Play Date. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

Hopefully, this is a temporary system put into place out of absolute necessity and we will be able to reevaluate soon once immunization rates increase and COVID-19 cases decrease. We are so excited to bring back 21+ events and your accommodation of this policy will allow us to throw an excellent Way Late Play Date.
