SUMMARY:Nashville Opera ON TOUR: Goldie B. Locks & the Three Singing Bears
DESCRIPTION:Friday\, February 21  | 3:00 to 4:00 pm\nFREE Sensory-friendly performance\nNashville Opera is coming to Adventure Science Center for a Sensory-Friendly Performance this spring! Introduce your children to opera with John Davies’ fun operatic retelling of the classic children’s fairy tale\, Goldie Locks. \nPlease note: there is no charge to attend this performance in Jack Wood Hall. Access to exhibits in the science center will be closed. If you would like to visit the science center before the performance (9:00 am to 3:00 pm)\, please purchase tickets here. Goldie\, a little girl who has a great passion for bugs and spiders\, finds herself in a sticky situation when she stumbles upon the dwelling of the three singing bears. Hungry and lost\, she eats from the soup bowls Mama Bear has left on the table to cool. When the three bears return to their lunch and discover a “soup thief” is on the loose\, Baby Bear “Peek” leads a brave detective search and befriends Goldie Locks\, our accidental soup thief\, along the way! The ensuing adventure teaches children the true meaning of friendship and the importance of honesty. GOLDIE B. LOCKS AND THE THREE SINGING BEARS is a family-friendly 40-minute production sung in English and set to music by Mozart & Offenbach. \nNashville Opera ON TOUR will bring full sets and costumes. The cast consists of 4 professional opera singers and a pianist. All performers are members of the Nashville Opera’s Mary Ragland Emerging Artist Program. \nAn accompanying study guide and an accessibility toolkit to prepare children for the performance can be located here (Under “Tour Information”). For this performance\, the performers will be singing slightly softer than their normal levels\, and there will be a storyboard projected to the side of the performance to follow along with during the show.
