NEW Live Science Show

Live Science for the month of June will be an iteration of the "Wheel of Science" show, but instead, it will be "Wheel of Waves". The show will feature 7 science demonstrations all about waves that are all around us including sound, heat, light (including color), and yes, we will all do "the wave".

Live Science Shows take place at Cosmic Ray's every day at 11:45 am and 1:45 pm, with an additional show Saturdays at 4:30 pm.

Early Explorer Storytime

Join us Monday mornings for Early Explorers! Preschoolers and their parents can enjoy all the exhibits, attend storytime with our staff, and participate in a fun, learning activity. Plus, you have the chance to meet other parents, arrange a play date, or just enjoy having a special time for your curious little one! The theme for June is waves!

Waves: Physical Science for Kids
Andi Diehn / Shululu
Early Explorers will get an intro to waves as we explore sound, light, and seismic waves. They will visualize how waves move through different mediums by experimenting with Slinkys and making their own Slinky sound maker.

Light Waves
David A Adler / Anna Raff
Early Explorers will learn about how light travels in waves all around them. They will make their own Spectroscope and observe a rainbow of colors right at their fingertips!

What Makes Different Sounds?
Lawrence F. Lowery
Early Explorers will dive deep into sound waves and explore how vibrations caused by sound travel through the air. They will make their own sound machine and watch rice "dance" as they make vibrations.

OCEAN! Waves for All
Stacy McAnulty / David Litchfield
Early Explorers will learn about the powerful waves in the ocean. They will make their own wave-in-a-bottle experiment!
