*Specialty Camps Themes this summer:

  • Design, Build, Test, and LEGO® (Grade: 2nd-5th)
  • Tinkering, Making, and Inventing (Grade: 3rd-6th)
  • Science + Fashion (Grade: 4th-7th)
  • Robotics and Electronics (Grade 4th-7th)

WEEK 1: May 29th - June 2nd

WONDERS OF THE GALAXY

Get ready for an adventure from Earth’s atmosphere to the wonders of the galaxy! This week will be packed with all things space. Campers will discover our solar system, black holes, rockets, drones, constellations, and more. They will explore the science behind rocket construction as they build their own, and watch it launch! 3, 2, 1... BLAST OFF!

*DESIGN, BUILD, TEST, AND LEGO®

Campers will build elaborate objects, structures, and vehicles using  LEGOS® that increase in complexity over the course of the weekCampers will challenge themselves in the sciences of engineering, technology, design, and more! Using LEGOS® Mindstorms® EV3, campers will learn basic block coding and undergo a series of challenges.  Each day, they will collaborate on a larger project throughout the week and will get to showcase their work at the end of the week!

WEEK 2: JUNE 5TH - 9TH

DESTINATION WORLD

Campers will take a journey around the world while learning about the present and past biomes and habitats. Exploring the unique features and creatures that make them extraordinary. From the deepest ocean to the driest desert to the densest rainforest, we’ll explore organisms that have lived over time and discover the processes and events that create and affect our natural world. Campers will discover ways to keep Earth clean through reducing, reusing, & recycling. They will end the week creating and participating in a camp-wide recycling carnival!

WEEK 3: JUNE 12TH - 16TH

WIZARDING WORLD OF SCIENCE

Our camp professors will lead their houses through classes, lessons, and experiments that explore the real-life science that inspired Harry Potter’s magical world. Campers will learn how to care for magical creatures, conquer potions, utilize forces and compete in a tri-wizard tournament! All aboard the Hogwarts Express!

*TINKERING, MAKING, AND INVENTING

Utilizing our seasonal exhibit, the Tinkering Garage, aspiring engineers and designers will use real tools, scraps, and recyclable items to create personalized artwork. This camp promotes creative problem-solving, flexible thinking, collaboration, and innovation! Stepping into one of our favorite high-tech makerspace, campers will visit Innovation Incubator and learn the entire design process from brainstorming to building, to testing and evaluating. Not to mention, they will participate in building challenges with prompts to construct vehicles, models, gadgets, and much more!

WEEK 4: JUNE 19TH - 23RD

FORENSIC FINDS

Campers and counselors will work towards becoming advanced super sleuths to solve the camp-wide mystery of “Who Done It!?”! Campers will employ their problem-solving and detective skills to decipher codes, gather evidence, conduct tests, and practice real-life investigation techniques.

*SCIENCE + FASHION

In this week of camp, budding fashion designers will hone their creativity in designing while learning about the science behind clothing! Campers will create fashion projects with electricity, test fabrics & their colors, learn basic sewing skills, and much more! This camp is perfect for campers who want to be inspired, challenged, and go home learning a new skill.

WEEK 5: JUNE 26TH - 30TH

DINOSAUR EXPEDITIONS

Calling aspiring paleontologists and dinosaur enthusiasts of all ages for a week full of discovery at the Adventure Science Center!  Experience the thrill of holding real dinosaur fossils, studying the deep past, performing explosive experiments, examining modern-day plants and animals with prehistoric roots, and much more!  Campers will learn from a real paleontologist and be able to delve into the exciting world of paleontology.  You don't want to miss out on this expedition, it will be dino-mite!

WEEK 6: NO CAMP

WEEK 7: JULY 10TH - 14TH

SUPER POWERED SCIENCE

Campers will investigate the forces, energy, and actions involved in the superpowers of some of their favorite superheroes and villains. We will hypothesize, predict and test whether we could exert super speed or super strength, be invincible, fly, and more! Join us as we conduct hands-on experiments, make mechanisms, and create concoctions to examine the ins and outs of super power science.

WEEK 8: JULY 17TH - 21ST

WIZARDING WORLD OF SCIENCE

Our camp professors will lead their houses through classes, lessons, and experiments that explore the real-life science that inspired Harry Potter’s magical world.
