A Wish for the Planet – 1000 Cranes Project

Cranes

We’re gearing up for Earth Day with a special art project!

This weekend, join us in Innovation Incubator (i2) for a collaborative art activity for guests of all ages. From Friday to Sunday, we’ll be guiding you through step-by-step instructions to make your own paper crane. Each time you make one, we’ll add it to our evolving art piece. Our goal is to make 1000 Paper Cranes by the end of the weekend.

Why 1000?

According to a Japanese legend, folding 1000 paper cranes gives you a chance to make one special wish come true. So what is our wish?

If we’re able to make 1000 paper cranes during Earth Day weekend, you can help us make a wish for the preservation and health of Planet Earth!

But the work doesn't stop after you leave i2. You can have an impact on the future of the planet by trying 1 of the 52 Ways To Invest In Our Planet listed on earthday.org

Here are just a few of the ways you can participate:

1.    Write on a computer in order to conserve paper

2.    Go on a walk and pick up trash along the way

3.    Make conscious changes in your diet to reduce your carbon footprint

4.    Switch to reusable bags

5.    Start a composting bin

6.    Take the sustainable fashion quiz

Through this creative art initiative, we aim to inspire action and create hope, belonging, and a sense of connection amongst all who join us. If the 1000 people that make a crane invest in the planet through one conscious action, we can help make Earth a better place!

*All cranes will be recycled when our art piece is de-installed.
