Family Star Wars Day

"A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away," a movie franchise was created and sci-fi fanatics went wild. Now, we want to celebrate May the 4th with you with a Family Star Wars day at Adventure Science Center. Floor Activities

• Jedi Training Course
  • "Complete your training you must." Yoda will supervise our trainees as they undergo their Jedi training. Guests will undergo several training exercises including keeping Darth Vader (a balloon) in the air with a lightsaber, staying on the High Ground in Mustafar, and pod racing through an obstacle course. Upon completing Jedi training, the new Jedis will receive a glowing crystal necklace.
• Yoda Headbands
  • Visitors can make a headpiece that features the iconic Lannik ears.
• Fizzy Death Star Experiments
  • Pick your own Death Star...then watch it explode. Explore what happens when baking soda mixes with vinegar in this fizzy acid-base reaction.
• The Science of Star Wars
  • The Science of Star Wars will be playing on the Cosmic Rays screen, along with self-guided Star Wars Trivia. Head up to the second floor to check it out!
• Star Wars Gameplay
  • Learn the basics of how to play Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures in our 3M Learning Lab, where our educators will be leading guests through a short demonstration of the game.
• Early Explorers Programming
  • There will be a coloring and stickers station set up in Adventure Gallery for children under 5 to color and decorate pictures from The Mandalorian.

Shows in the Sudekum Planetarium

• Our May Planetarium show, STARS: Powerhouses of the Universe, is narrated by Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker. Be sure to grab tickets for the 12:45 show.

Activities in the i2 Makerspace

• We're turning the i2 Makerspace into the Millennium Falcon with special lighting and decorations. Enter this space to make an LED lightsaber for guests to use on their Jedi journey.

Meet Kylo Ren (12:00 pm to 3:00 pm)

• A Kylo Ren cosplayer from The 501st Legion will be on-site to meet with our Jedis-in-training and take photos.
