Nebula Society

A nebula is where stars are born and is the beginning of something that lasts far beyond a single moment. Nebula Society honors donors who have named Adventure Science Center as a beneficiary of a planned gift, a decision that carries the mission forward for generations to come. Each member's name is placed on a star on our recognition wall near the planetarium, a lasting mark on the place where so many first fall in love with science. Membership involves no dues, obligations, or solicitations. It simply allows us to thank you and recognize the plans you've made, and it may inspire the same generosity in others.

Planned Giving Scenarios

If you're curious how planned giving works, the information below details two common scenarios and how they impact our organization.

Bequest Named Beneficiary on an Account
What’s the gift? A line in your will or trust leaving cash, stock, property, or a percentage of your estate to Adventure Science Center Adventure Science Center listed as a beneficiary on your IRA, 401(k), or life insurance policy, for all or part of the balance.
What does it do for you? Nothing leaves your hands during your lifetime, and you can revise it whenever your plans change. Your estate receives a charitable deduction for the full amount. Setting it up is as simple as updating the beneficiary on file with your plan administrator. Retirement savings left to heirs are taxed as income. Left to Adventure Science Center, they aren't taxed at all.
What does it do for Adventure Science Center? Ensures every visitor, in every generation, has an exceptional experience at the Center. Keeps the Center's experiences first-rate for the families and students who walk through the doors long after you.
