NEW Summer Fridays: Now - August 1, we are open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm!

Tennessee Pollinators

From bees and butterflies to bats and beetles, pollinators are essential to the health of our ecosystem. Without them, we’d lose crops, flowers, and many of the trees we take for granted. In this interactive exhibit, you’ll learn just how much these tiny creatures do—and how you can help protect them.

Dance like a bee

Step into the shoes (or wings) of a honeybee and try the famous waggle dance, used to share directions to nearby nectar.

Find your flower

Discover how native Tennessee plants can turn your garden into a pollinator paradise.

Meet The Pollinators

Bees aren’t alone! Learn about birds, bats, butterflies, moths, and more through real specimens on loan from Middle Tennessee State University.

See the Unseen

Explore how pollinators use ultraviolet patterns on flowers to find food—and how litter can interfere with their search.

BEE-hind the scenes

Adventure Science Center is home to two active beehives! One is tucked safely behind the scenes, while the other is right here in this exhibit—giving you a close-up look at the incredible world of bees and how they help our planet thrive.

Every Visitor can make a difference

Limit pesticide use, plant native gardens, and keep outdoor spaces clean to help Tennessee’s pollinators thrive.

Special thanks to Nobody Trashes Tennessee for helping bring this exhibit to life! This partnership is part of the #NobodyTrashesTennessee campaign, a program of TDOT. Our bee suits, bees and training are from Honeybee Tennessee

Tennessee Pollinators is located on the third floor near the elevators and stairs.
