Field Trips

School Group Visits During the Academic Year

Please read the following information regarding field trips for 2025 - 2026, then fill out the form at the bottom of the page to begin the booking process.

Pricing

Parking

Parking for buses is free, but we require an advance count of the number of buses you will be bringing.

Lunch

A covered picnic pavilion seating 180 is available in the lower parking lot free of charge. There is no indoor lunchroom available. 

Students may bring their lunch with them or pre-order box lunches from the Subway® restaurant located in the Skyline Café. We will provide indoor storage for food and drink at no additional charge.

Group size 

Each field trip group cannot exceed 140 students. If you want to bring a group larger than 140 students, we can work with you to break the group across multiple days. There must also be one adult for every 10 students. This size limit ensures every group can fit inside our orientation room, planetarium and utilize the outdoor picnic area. 

To qualify for field trip pricing, your group must include at least 20 students. 

Visit Duration 

Groups may explore the exhibitions for up to two hours. That’s more than enough time to visit every gallery! If you add an additional program, such as a lab or planetarium show, that time will not count towards your two hours of exploring. 

Additional Adults 

Field trip groups include only students, teachers, and required chaperones. We discourage additional parents from attending, as it distracts the students. Parents are of course welcome to purchase general admission, but parents will not be allowed into orientation, the planetarium, or other add-on school programs.  

Example: If your school is bringing 100 students and 5 teachers, you must bring an additional 5 parents (to meet the 1-adult-per-10-students requirement). No other parents should be invited to attend.
