Community Gathers to Mark Milestone Exhibition Connecting Visitors to Tennessee's Storied Fossil History

Adventure Science Center welcomed over 100 guests to its Fossil Frontiers Grand Reveal on Wednesday morning, celebrating the completion of a year-long journey to build one of Nashville's most immersive science experiences. The event unveiled the exhibition's T. rex centerpiece, drawing together donors, civic leaders, educators, and families in a shared moment of community pride.

Fossil Frontiers invites visitors of all ages to explore discoveries spanning hundreds of millions of years, from an interactive excavation site to large-scale fossil displays that bring Tennessee's prehistoric past to life. With the arrival of its centerpiece, the exhibition is now complete, offering guests a journey through time.

“Unveiling the T. rex as the centerpiece of Fossil Frontiers is an exciting moment in the history of our organization. Exhibits such as this one have great potential to inspire the next generation of scientists,” said Leah Melber, Ph.D, President & CEO of Adventure Science Center. “With the support of our community and funders, places like this can change trajectories of people's lives through curiosity and exploration.”

The completion of Fossil Frontiers was made possible through the generous support of Amazon, The Mathman Family, Sandra Schatten Foundation, Nashville Predators Foundation, Spire, and Tennessee 811. Wednesday’s event honored these partners and recognized the community of supporters whose contributions brought the vision to fruition.

“We’re proud to serve as the founding sponsor of Fossil Frontiers and help bring experiences like this to Nashville, inspiring curiosity and discovery for the next generation of scientists and explorers,” said Courtney Ross, Senior Manager Community Engagement, Amazon.

The family-friendly atmosphere reflected the Science Center’s mission to open every mind to the wonders of science and technology, fostering a better understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

Fossil Frontiers is now open to the public as part of Adventure Science Center’s general admission. The science center is open 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday). Tickets and information are available here.
